| Greater Wyoming Valley Council On Youth Leadership |

| Youth Salute is designed to applaud our young adults and their achievements! In 2010 we will celebrate 27 years and will have acknowledged over 3568 high school students in the greater Wyoming Valley. Working hand in hand with local community businesses, banks, high schools, parents, as well as the individual students themselves Youth Salute has become a well recognized program throughout our area. How does it work???? In January,Youth Salute begins with a process of guidance counselors, principals, teachers, clergy, political leaders nominating high school Juniors. The nominees are then asked to fill out the Youth Salute application and return by a set deadline. During these months of each nominee is then photographed and a display is designed with all the achievements they wrote on the application. These displays travel throughout the greater Wyoming area and are displayed at banks, the county courthouse, as well as the county fair. In September we hold our local banquet to choose our top local Youth Leaders that will then have the opportunity to attend the Town Meeting on Tomorrow held in St. Louis, Mo. in October. Every year we send 1 student or two to nationals as our top youth leaders to compete with youth leaders from throughout the country. Youth Salute is a NOT FOR PROFIT PROGRAM and costs any and all nominees nothing. Scholarships, plaques, costs of travel, etc....comes from donations from businesses that are interested in acknowledging our youth today to create a better tomorrow!
